Argiflex @ 4th Annual Oxford Fringe Festival’s Experimental Block

I’m headlining the Experimental Block at the 4th Annual Art-Er Limits Oxford Fringe Festival! It’s 11PM on August 3rd, 2017 at The Powerhouse in Oxford MS! This is my first show since breaking my ankle and having to cancel my Midsummer Tour due to that, so I would love to see y’all again at this after being on bedrest for almost a month! Because of my healing ankle, I’m not able to bring my full rig to perform with. So instead I’ll be doing a #rare single-groovebox vaportrap performance on my Yamaha RM1X, don’t miss it!

Show Blurb

Argiflex is the long-running hardware electronic music project from Curtis Lehr out of Cleveland Mississippi. Coming out of the heart of the Delta and the birthplace of the blues, the sound is a humid and desolate mixture of acid techno, breakbeat, IDM, noise, and hardvapour. Showcasing the mother tongue of the machine from 1999 by utilizing the built-in sounds to a create old-new-old sound, this is a #rare performance that you won’t want to miss, especially since this is one of the few times it will ever be performed. Fans of Aphex Twin, Death Grips, Enya, or Yung Lean will all find something to enjoy from this set. Argiflex is touring nationally to play festivals and promote new materials and is very excited to perform at the 4th Art-Er Limits Fringe Festival!

BACK FROM TOUR

I’m back from tour and I’ve kind of fallen off of the face of the planet for a while but I’m working on some new music using a sampler that I’ve just recently learned the ins and outs of, and I’m also working on a retrospective tour diary so that you can read about it and wonder why I phrase things that way.

Also, here’s a video of some experimental harsh acid techno that I made using just one groovebox. It has a weird wall of noise at the end but I like it:
